Project Description

The project involved a complete exterior refresh for a beautiful Highlands Ranch home, followed by a second phase of custom window trim repair. What began as a standard repaint quickly revealed deeper issues beneath the surface, and the final result is a clean, durable finish designed to protect and elevate the home for years to come.

With upgraded products, detailed prep, and precision carpentry, the transformation went far beyond color. The project combined craftsmanship with practical problem-solving to give the homeowner long-lasting peace of mind.

Background / Story

When the homeowner first reached out, they were ready for a full exterior repaint and a fresh, cohesive look. During the initial inspection, our team noticed subtle but important issues around the home’s window trims. Gaps, poor sealing, and signs of improper installation were creating vulnerabilities the homeowner had been unaware of.

After walking through the findings together, the homeowner appreciated the transparency and decided to proceed with the repaint while pursuing a resolution with the original window contractor. Months later, when the contractor did not address the issues, they asked RW Professional Painting to return and complete the trim rebuild. Their goal was simple: protect the home properly and finish the project the right way.

By the end of both phases, the homeowner shared how impressed they were with the craftsmanship, communication, and care that went into every step.

Scope of Services

Exterior Preparation & Painting
All siding, fascia, soffits, gutters, downspouts, doors, and trims were cleaned, repaired, and prepped for paint. Surfaces were power washed, scraped, sanded, primed, and caulked. Upgraded SherMax Elastomeric Caulk and Sherwin-Williams Duration Satin were used for added longevity. Two full coats of paint were applied for a smooth, even finish. Small carpentry repairs were completed where loose or damaged boards required replacement.

Inspection Findings
During prep work, significant gaps and insufficient sealing were found around multiple window frames. These issues were documented for the homeowner and later became the foundation for Phase Two.

Window Trim Rebuild & Carpentry
The second visit focused entirely on correcting the window installation problems. All existing trims and vinyl components were removed. Poly-based expansion foam was applied to seal the window perimeters. New custom-width exterior trims were fabricated and installed for a precise, clean fit. Each piece was caulked, sealed, and finished with two coats of Sherwin-Williams Duration Satin to match the home’s updated exterior.
